Cars are here to stay.  And hopefully, our environment is, too.  That’s why the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) International created the Supermileage Vehicle (SMV) challenge – they wanted engineers to develop cars that get the highest miles per gallon possible while meeting some safety specifications.

And that’s why I’m a part of the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s SMV team.  This is important.  And I want to figure out exactly why.

I also want to learn the history of these vehicles, and even the history of cars themselves.  We have to know where we’ve been to figure out where we’re going.

If I’m lucky, maybe that’s something I’ll stumble on along the way…
